Unwrapped

UPDATE: A 3 DVD set exists! It contains some delicious episodes, which is a good start. Apparently it’s only available through the Food Network website, though? WEAK. Somebody with Tivo or a video card with video-in, please help!

For some reason, Unwrapped is the only show I “miss” from my cable days (2002 and before), and I barely even watched it then. If it was on while I was flipping (and flipping, and flipping…) then I would stop to watch it, but I never purposefully tried to watch it.

I think it has to do with 2 reasons, tho. 1) It’s a show that teaches, so I can rationalize it taking 22 minutes from my life. Factory tours (especially food related ones) are an obsession of mine, so how could I resist learning/watching about so many food items being made? 2) They often make sweets! Nuff said.

Sometimes it’s as frequently as every day, and sometimes I will go for a couple weeks without thinking about it, but I feel as though I’m always lamenting the lack of Unwrapped in my life. I’ve looked online and watched every video I could find, watching the sweets ones a few times. It doesn’t appear as though they made DVDs of the show, so I don’t suppose anyone will end up file sharing them.

Maybe if some Internet stranger happens upon this entry someday, he or she will do the magical and Tivo some episodes and burn them to a DVD. Stranger, if you do that, I will pay it forward forever. Inbetween my viewings of said Unwrapped episodes.

Pee Ess- Marc Summers has OCD (which he wrote a book about), and I love him. Not only did he host one of the most seminal (ewww) programs of my childhood, but he rearranges the pillows on his couch 100 times a day. We’re like cosmic homies. Luff you Marc!
